Job Responsibilities
Participate in the implementation of a highly available application server.
Support web servers including Apache and IIS.
Monitor and optimize application server health and performance.
Anticipate and prevent problems. Resolve problems when they do arise.
Implement and improve procedures to enhance server availability.
Perform upgrades to the application server.
Stay technically current with new technologies.
Assume an adviser role to the IT team.
Required Qualifications:
Understanding of high availability topologies.
Understanding of SQL database administration
5 years experience working with Microsoft application server administration.
Must have experience with VMware technologies
Must have experience with .Net application
Must have experience with DNS management
Experience with Redhat Linux and Windows operating systems
Experience with deploying Web services
Familiarity with the use of Windows and MS Office
Ability to recognize priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
Additional Assets
Microsoft Certification (MCP, MCSE)
Knowledge of Microsoft IIS and Apache
Experience as an Microsoft SQL Server database administrator
Experience with F5 (BigIP) Load balancers
